Supply List for Jaimie Cordero's Watercolor Basics Painting Class

* Paints:  

(tube watercolors only, in any of the following brands: Maimeriblu, Davinci, Holbein, Daniel Smith, or Winsor
Newton. No student grades or brands, please.)

1 warm yellow,  (such as New Gamboge, Maimeriblu Golden Lake, or Daniel Smith Quinacridone Gold)

1 cool yellow, (such as Davinci Hansa Yellow, Maimeriblu Primary Yellow, or Aureolin)

1 warm red, (such as Vermilion, or Maimeriblu Sandal Red)

1 cool red, (such as Davinci Red Rose Deep, Winsor Newton Permanent Rose, or Maimeriblu Primary Red
Magenta)

1 warm blue, (such as Winsor Newton French Ultramarine)

1 cool blue, (such as Davinci Cobalt Teal Blue, or any brand of Pthalo Blue)

1 warm dark (such as Winsor Newton Dioxazine Violet, or Maimeriblu Permanent Violet Bluish)

1 cool dark (such as Prussian Blue)

1 green (such as Hookers Green)

Paper:

A watercolor block size between 12” x 16"  to 16" x 20" in size 140 pound "cold pressed" or "rough", in one of
the following recommended brands:

Winsor & Newton, Fabriano Artistico, or Arches (any good 100% cotton rag)

OR cut pieces of watercolor paper of the type & brands mentioned above. PLEASE DO NOT BUY CHEAP
WATERCOLOR PAPER OR PADS. If you are cutting your paper, cut to the dimensions mentioned above.


* Brushes:

Black squirrel-mix  Watercolor brushes in the following recommended sizes:

Size 8 round
Size 12 round
Size ¾” flat

Other materials:

Paper towels
Large water container
* 2B or HB pencil
* White plastic eraser (Staedtler Mars)
* White plastic watercolor palette (recommend one with a snap-on lid, such as the Pike Palette)

Other gear

Small lightweight board, or drawing board (if you are using loose sheets of paper)
Masking tape (if you are using loose sheets of paper)
OPTIONAL Small drafting light for your work area (with extension cord)
A small notebook or sketchbook for taking notes
A wheeled “luggage” cart or other wheeled cart to easily “schlep” your stuff.
